EmailDeskSender and Inbox

EmailDesk desktop client

EmailDesk mailbox access from a Windows desktop.

Use the EmailDesk desktop client for assigned business mailboxes without configuring a third-party provider inside the app. Read and organize mail, compose and reply, work with attachments, and keep mailbox actions connected to the same EmailDesk permissions and sending controls.

What EmailDesk provides

Work with assigned EmailDesk mailboxes on Windows.

Mailbox folders and search

Open assigned Inbox, Sent, Drafts, Junk, Archive, and Trash views, search stored messages, and filter unread, assigned, or attachment-bearing mail.

Read and organize

Read message details, download available attachments, mark messages read or unread, archive mail, and move messages to Trash within the user's permissions.

Compose and reply

Compose from an assigned sender mailbox, reply to existing threads, include supported attachments, and use the same sender DNS, quota, and outbound controls as EmailDesk.

Windows installer

The public download is a Windows executable installer. EmailDesk does not currently publish a macOS or Linux installer from this route.

EmailDesk authentication

Sign in with an EmailDesk user or eligible assigned mailbox credential. API keys and standalone SMTP passwords are not desktop-app login credentials.

Permission-aware access

Desktop read, reply, send, archive, Trash, and attachment actions remain subject to the user's mailbox permissions and active EmailDesk session.

How to begin

Confirm access before installing the client.

The installer does not create a mailbox. An administrator must first assign an active EmailDesk mailbox and the permissions needed for the intended operations.

  1. 01

    Confirm the assigned mailbox

Verify the EmailDesk user or mailbox is active and has the required read, reply, send, and message-management permissions.

  2. 02

    Download the current installer

Download the hosted 0.1.19 Windows installer from EmailDesk and review the filename and version before running it.

  3. 03

    Install and sign in

Run the Windows installer, open EmailDesk Desktop, and sign in only with the approved EmailDesk account or assigned mailbox credential.

  4. 04

    Verify mailbox and sending access

Open the assigned folders, send a controlled message if permitted, and confirm the expected mailbox actions before relying on the client for daily work.

Operational evidence

Keep desktop activity inside the EmailDesk permission model.

The desktop client uses dedicated EmailDesk application endpoints. It does not ask the user to choose mail servers or bypass platform sender and protection controls.

Download and updates

Install the current Windows client with the right account.

Check the hosted version, use the EmailDesk download route, and keep desktop credentials separate from API keys, SMTP credentials, and third-party mail-client passwords.

Open download and connection detailsCurrent hosted version: 0.1.19.

1. Confirm mailbox access

Ask the EmailDesk administrator to confirm the user or assigned mailbox is active. Read, reply, send, archive, Trash, and attachment actions require the corresponding EmailDesk permissions.

2. Download the current installer

The current hosted filename is EmailDesk-Desktop-Setup-0.1.19.exe. The download endpoint sends the executable with no-store headers so the browser requests the current hosted file.

3. Check version metadata

Administrators can inspect the current version, filename, file availability, size, download path, and release notes without downloading the executable:

https://app.emaildesk.bd/api/downloads/desktop?metadata=1

4. Install and sign in securely

Run the installer from the EmailDesk download route. Sign in with the approved EmailDesk user or eligible assigned mailbox credential. Do not enter an API key or separate SMTP credential in the login form.

Desktop authentication returns a time-bounded EmailDesk session and applies login rate limits. Accounts that require additional verification receive a challenge response instead of bypassing that control.

5. Understand IMAP, POP, and SMTP

EmailDesk Desktop uses dedicated EmailDesk application endpoints. It does not expose IMAP, POP, or SMTP server fields and does not connect by asking the user to choose a mail protocol.

For a compatible third-party client, IMAP keeps server folders synchronized, POP downloads mailbox mail according to that client's settings, and authenticated SMTP submits outgoing messages. Those server settings and credentials are separate from EmailDesk Desktop.

6. Verify supported operations

Confirm assigned Inbox, Sent, Drafts, Junk, Archive, and Trash views. Test search, read or unread state, archive, Trash, attachment download, compose, and reply only where the account has permission.

Outgoing desktop messages still use EmailDesk sender DNS, quota, protection, provider handoff, and delivery-evidence controls. Provider acceptance does not guarantee inbox placement.

7. Update or remove access

Check this page or the metadata endpoint for a newer hosted version and run the newer installer when an update is published. The page does not claim automatic in-app updates.

On a shared, lost, or compromised computer, sign out if possible and ask an administrator to revoke the session or reset the affected EmailDesk or mailbox credential.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about the EmailDesk desktop client.

Which operating system is supported?

The current public download is a Windows executable installer. This page does not claim a macOS or Linux build or guarantee compatibility with every Windows edition or device architecture.

Do I configure IMAP, POP, or SMTP in EmailDesk Desktop?

No. The desktop app signs in to EmailDesk and uses dedicated EmailDesk endpoints. It does not expose incoming-server or outgoing-server setup screens.

When are IMAP, POP, and SMTP relevant?

They are relevant when an administrator connects a compatible third-party mail client. IMAP or POP retrieves mailbox mail, while authenticated SMTP submits outgoing mail. Those credentials and settings are separate from the EmailDesk desktop app.

Which credentials should I use?

Use the EmailDesk account or eligible assigned mailbox credential approved by the administrator. Do not use an API key or a separate application SMTP credential as the desktop sign-in password.

How do desktop client updates work?

The download endpoint currently publishes version 0.1.19. Check this page or the download metadata for the current version and download the newer installer when an update is published. This page does not claim automatic in-app updates.

What should I do on a shared Windows computer?

Use only an approved Windows account, sign out of EmailDesk when finished, do not share mailbox credentials, and ask the administrator to revoke or reset access if the computer or account may be compromised.
